The past has bought us to this place
& left its markings on your pretty face
What happened & the stories you made
You can loosen your grip & let them fade.
Late summers day blue & white sky
Maybe of all things you could learn to fly
Cars pass by & the lady’s chatter
What are the things that really matter?
A few green trees line the street
Not sure if its really fair to keep eating meat
The sun comes out & heats things up
Prefer coffee in a glass to a manky old cup.
Just a few folk are wondering by
Very neutral looking they neither laugh nor cry
Slightly cluttered table with a crane in sight
Have you heard of Arjuna & all his might?
The street lights are not turned on
Its broad daylight so that’s not wrong
A gentle breeze is filling the air
The health of this planet do you really care?
Lunch was good & its nice in the sun
The wind picks up nature’s clearly having fun
People talk into phones & wear a plug in their ear
Mistaking misery for happiness what do you fear?
Colorful shops with flats above
Scooters & vans but no crisp white dove
Street signs & the sounds of traffic
Roads go both ways which one will you pick?
A bus splutters by & people of all ages
Different colors with good or bad wages
Various shapes, cultures & states of being
Stay in the moment there’s no use in fleeing.
