‘Life is shite’ a man once told me

‘it’s down to you to make it great’ he said sipping his fresh mint tea

The words have long been swirling in my mind

Now’s definitely a time to be extra kind.

Be extra kind to yourself as well as others

Every lady’s a sister and all men are brothers

Both you and fate determine the quality of your life

Our thoughts and words act like a razor sharp knife.

We add to lifes shiteness or make it great

This is our power we can meditate

We choose the glasses we’re looking through

If they’re clean and clear we’ll get a better view.

No glasses at all maybe better still

Simply see things holistically giving up your own will

We all have our small ego personal mind

That’s limited, forever changing & not truly accurate many will find.

On the other hand we have access to a cosmic power

A universal dimension like a lotus flower

Through suspending our minds and just being with what is

With no commentary, past, future, noise, or background fis.

We can experience ourselves in ever deepening & expanding ways

This is a key message of what Yoga says

A journey back to Self & the foundation of all

Where everything meets will rise & eventually fall.

The game of life unknown & potentially fun

She’ll have her way whichever way you try to turn & run

So be here now & let life be great

The power of creation living out her fate.

On reflection I surmise the man was partially right

Yes it’s true sometimes we need to stand & fight

But on a deeper level we need to just let go

Of all our over thinking that hides from us lifes flawless & eternal flow.
