Drawing lines on new years day
& set up for breakie it’s on it’s way
Had a walk & gone for a drive
Things are changing but we’re all survive.
A gulp of orange juice to awaken the senses
A view through the window partially blocked by walls & fences
Pen in hand & arms on the table
Lionel Ritchie in the background zooming in by cable.
Writing a poem to align the mind
& reflect a little to see what I find
Tinkering with a few things & clearing the path
Creating a new home with a fireplace & hearth.
We have to start with things as they are
The journey of life needn’t lead to far
Just back to yourself in your pristine state
Learning to love & dissolving all signs of hate.
A days gone by since I started these words
Now on the balcony listening to some faintly tweeting birds
The suns in full view & is shining bright
To arise with it daily you’ll need to go to bed earlier at night.
I have a plan for the new year & beyond
To align with dharma & swim in a Hampstead pond
The yogis talk about settling karma
& sowing good seeds like a conscientious farmer.
My work will be more rewarding as I start a new career
Helping people to achieve what they hold most dear
Mentoring & teaching about sales I know is amusingly part of the universal plan
Still breathing in the sun maybe even catching a tan.
My minds made up that’s what I’ll do
Boost peoples sales working for myself not you know who
Develop a great business serving many fine folk
Providing better for my family & stopping the smokers toke.
